Elias and Sofie Hoines came to America from Norway in October, 1887. The established their home on a farm eight miles east and south of Langford the following year. Here eleven children were born and reared.
The Children were:

Mary (Mrs. Knute Hanson), Clara (Mrs. Mandius Holland), Annie (Mrs. John Stokke), Emma (Mrs. Andrew Lindgren), Ole who married Bertha Snorteland, Katherin (Mrs. Hans Hanson), Arent married Ida Holm, Alfred married Annie Nickelson, Edwin married Myrtle Nickelson and Magnus married Connie Ness.
All eleven children have passed away, and a grandson, Orral Hoines, farms the home place.
The first things established by these pioneers was a church and a school, as education was of great importance to them. The Hoines children were taught respect for God and man. E.O. Hoines was a charter member of Falnes Lutheran Church.
